Jen Gotch, founder and chief creative officer of ban.do, a lifestyle and fashion brand based in LA, believes there is. She has created 14k yellow gold necklaces that read “anxiety” and “depression”.
“I have struggled with mental health issues for most of my life and I know how challenging it can be both personally and professionally,” she writes on her website.
“It’s so important for us to open up a dialogue about how we are feeling and get to a place where we are comfortable asking for and receiving help.”
She hopes her necklaces can help aid that, while serving as a “conversation starter” into the topic.
But she doesn’t just talk the talk; Gotch donates 100 percent of their proceeds to a non-profit organisation Bring Change to Mind, which is dedicated to changing the way mental illness is perceived.
